About Goa Institute of Management (GIM)

Goa Institute of Management is a leading business school focused on transforming and improving management education. Rated among the ‘Best B-Schools for the World’ in the Positive Impact Rating 2023. GIM endeavours to have a positive impact on the society through its 6 programs getting agile leaders ready for the world. GIM is established in 1993 and it is an autonomous body approved by the norms of AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education), which offers two years of full-time residential PGDM programmes, i.e., PGDM, PGDM Healthcare Management (HCM), PGDM Big Data Analytics (BDA) and PGDM-Banking, Insurance and Financial Services (BIFS), as well as the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM). The PGDM-Part Time programme for working executives is a non-residential programme carried out over weekends for student managers. GIM celebrates bonding and connections with over 5,000 of its influential alumni located in more than 15 countries across the globe. GIM has continued to maintain 100% placements for the past many years. Our students intern in almost all major corporates in India and abroad. Our faculty team consists of 75+ full-time, highly skilled, and experienced academic members, many of whom come from the industry sector.

A Five-Day National Level Librarian Development Program (LDP) on Emerging Trends, Technologies and Methods for Effective Librarianship.

The Program is designed to provide librarians with practical insights and skills to adapt to the rapidly changing landscape of information management. Held at the Goa Institute of Management in Goa, ths program will run across 5 days and cover a large variety of topics, pertinent to the library community.

Key objectives of the LDP are:

Introduction to innovative technologies

Participants will be introduced to various innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain, augmented reality, data analytics, and their applications in library settings.

Hands-on training

The LDP will offer hands-on training sessions where participants can gain practical experience using different technology tools and techniques. This could involve interactive sessions, demonstrations, and exercises to facilitate learning and skill development.

Integration with librarianship

The LDP will focus on how these technologies can be integrated into different aspects of librarianship, including collection management, information retrieval, user services, digital preservation, and academic research support.

Best practices and case studies

Participants will learn about best practices and real-world case studies showcasing successful implementations of innovative technology solutions in libraries. This will provide insights into how these technologies can address challenges and improve efficiency in library operations.

How to Reach Goa

Goa has two international airports, they are located in Dabolim – 30 km away from Panjim and MOPA near Mapusa. Multiple domestic airlines like Jet Airways, Air India, SpiceJet and IndiGo provide daily flights from major cities
Plenty of long-distance inter-state luxury and budget buses run from major cities such as Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, New Delhi to Goa. State-run bus service, Kadamba Transport is also a good option. Most buses to and from Goa operate from Panjim, Margao, Ponda and Mapusa.
Goa has six railway stations out of which the Madgaon Station is the biggest. Most people usually get down at Madgaon or Vasco-da-Gama in South Goa and Thivim in North Goa for Mapusa. Other smaller stations include Pernem for Arambol, Karmali (Old Goa) for Panjim and Canacona for Palolem.

How to Reach GIM

Prepaid taxis are available right outside the airport. The prepaid booth charges around Rs700-800 to reach GIM.
  • Take a bus to the Sanquelim bus stand from the Panjim bus stand. During regular business hours, finding a bus won’t be an issue because they depart every 15 minutes. The fare from Panjim to Sanquelim is around Rs 30.
  • Take a motorbike pilot to the college from the Sanquelim bus stop, which is 2 kilometres away. From the bus stop, bike pilots will transport you to the college for Rs 50 per person.
  • To get to GIM, you can take prepaid taxis or Autos
Prepaid taxis or autos are available right outside the Madagaon railway station which is situated 45 km from the GIM Campus.
